Project Description:

City of Columbia wastewater maintenance staff were called to replace a collapsed sewer main under a section of S Beltline Blvd. While performing that work, they discovered that the immediately downstream section of sewer main was in a similarly critical condition of imminent failure. That section of sewer main was aligned underneath the comer of occupied residence, necessitating a significant re-routing of the sewer main to within the road right-of-way. The depth and complexity of surrounding water and gas utilities required a contractor to be engaged to complete this work. McClam & Associates was available, had necessary materials on hand, and was familiar with this area of the City’s wastewater system from a previous nearby project.
