Project Description:
As part of the City’s Capacity Assurance Program (CAP) required under the EPA’s May 2014 Consent Decree, the City has determined that a new Smith Branch Pump Station (SBPS) is required to meet the City’s future sewer flow conditions in 2030. The new pump station will be located near the SS7560 Crane Creek EQ Storage Tank/PS at the former Eau Claire Wastewater Facility Site. The new SBPS will convey sewer peak flows up to 16 mgd through a new 36-inch force main (18,500 linear feet long) to a location near the Canal Water Treatment Plant where it will connect to the Congaree Outfall sewer pipe. The future PS will work in unison with the Crane Creek PS to avoid SSOs in the Crane Creek and Smith Branch Sewer Basins.
