Project Map: View Project Map
Project Type: Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP)
Project Phase: Construct
Project Description:
The project proposes a permanent dewatering roll-off receiving station at the Metro WWTP. The Metro WWTP is currently using a temporary location and configuration to receive City sewer-maintenance vacuum trucks, pump-station-maintenance vacuum trucks, plant-maintenance vacuum trucks, City dewatering cans, and trucks from companies contracted by the City of Columbia. These trucks unload into roll-off containers to dewater solids and meet the percent-solids requirement before disposal at the landfill. A site layout and plan to convert this operation to a permanent dewatering station will be provided. The permanent facility will allow multiple trucks to deliver solids to multiple dewatering roll-off containers.
Council District: System-wide
Sewer Basin: Broad River, Crane Creek, Gills Creek, Mill Creek, Rocky Branch, Saluda River, Smith Branch, West Columbia
Public Benefit: Efficient Operations; Regulatory Compliance.
